About Veterinary Care in Springfield
Springfield has 31 veterinary clinics, with an average Google rating of 4.5 out of 5 across 9,424 reviews, giving pet owners a strong pool of well-reviewed options. One important thing to know is that weekend access is very limited, so it is worth checking opening hours and urgent care arrangements before you choose a vet.
Our Score compares visible clinics in this country. The transparency part of the score is how many services the clinic has published, measured against the highest number published by a visible clinic in the same country. This town is in United States.

Springfield gives pet owners a strong set of choices for everyday veterinary care. There are enough clinics here that you can be selective, rather than just taking the first appointment you find. For dogs and cats, that is useful because the right fit is not only about reputation, it is also about how a clinic handles nervous pets, follow-up care, and day-to-day communication. The mix of services also suggests that some Springfield vets may see exotics as well, which can help if your household includes more than one type of pet.
A key point is that none of the current Springfield listings are verified, which simply means a registered user has not confirmed the listing details. Treat online information as a starting point, then call to confirm the basics before you book. None of the listings here show weekend opening or hours past 7 pm, so it is especially important to ask how evenings, weekends, and urgent cases are handled. If your pet has a condition that can flare up quickly, ask what happens when the clinic is closed and how after-hours advice is usually managed.
When you are choosing between vets in Springfield, start with your own pet's likely needs over the next year. A healthy young dog may need convenient routine care and easy vaccine scheduling, while an older cat may need calmer handling and more continuity with the same vet. Call two or three clinics and listen for clear, patient answers. Ask about appointment wait times, same-day sick visits, who handles follow-up questions, and whether medication refills are straightforward. Those details often matter more than a small difference in reviews.
If you are registering a new puppy, kitten, rescue pet, or senior animal, a short first call can tell you a lot. Ask how the team works with anxious pets, carriers, fearful dogs, or pets that do better with quieter visits. Springfield has enough choice that you do not need to settle for a clinic that feels rushed or hard to reach. A calm, helpful first impression usually makes future visits easier for both you and your pet.
